Listing for:
Rare European "Puck" phonograph

This model of Puck has been documented in the Fabrizio and Paul book.

Note the original color on the lyre base... most of these Pucks are rusted heaps or repainted black.

Here is the open works motor, governor and spring.

Horn shows permanent soldered-on original reproducer.

The reproducer stylus is good.

Even the horn bell is in fine condition.

The "Puck" is a scarcely seen European cylinder phonograph built mostly as a novelty. They are highly sought after today and very few survived in operating condition. The mechanism is an open works, key wound motor with a string drive! The cylinder grooves drive the horn from left to right, as there is no feedscrew. The base is a lyre design trivet and the horn is aluminum. The motor works and drives the cylinder... although I would not recommend this phonograph for home entertainment, they were just built too cheaply! This is one to preserve as a scarce artifact, a disposable sound system!
